Short answerNo. Under the EU Single-Use Plastics Directive, bio-based and biodegradable plastics such as PLA and CPLA count as plastic, so single-use cutlery made from them cannot be placed on the EU market.
In more detail
The Directive has banned single-use plastic cutlery, plates, straws, stirrers and expanded polystyrene food containers since 2021. The definition of plastic does not depend on where the polymer comes from, so plant-based PLA is treated the same way as oil-based PP.
For EU buyers we supply birch wood or bamboo cutlery instead. Both are accepted in every market we serve and can carry a printed or engraved logo.
