PLA boxes and trays are not on the banned list but still count as plastic packaging. For plastic-free goals we recommend kraft window boxes and paper sushi trays.

USA

Clear PLA containers are the main deli option. Compostable claims are backed by certificates.

PLA is for 45 °C and below — never for hot cabinets or food straight from the kitchen.
For long summer voyages we recommend an insulated container liner for PLA items, and include it in the quote.
