Short answerFrom 12 August 2026, the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation limits PFAS in food-contact packaging, including 25 ppb for any single targeted PFAS and 50 ppm for total PFAS, with no transition period.
In more detail
The limits matter most for moulded fibre (such as sugarcane bagasse) and grease-resistant paper, because PFAS have historically been used to make them resist oil and water.
We supply bagasse and grease-resistant paper items for the EU only with a PFAS test report for the item.
Basis: EU Regulation 2025/40 (PPWR), Article 5. Figures as published; confirmed per order.
